Meet one of the wonderful Property Managers at Keen on Rentals!
Every day looks different in property management. Mariette juggles maintenance and inspections, supports tenants, keeps landlords informed, tackles unexpected problems and makes sure every property is well cared for. Her role is a mix of people skills, problem-solving and day-to-day operations.

What does a typical week look like for you as a property manager at Keen on Rentals and what’s the part of the job people usually don’t expect?
My week is a mix of admin, inspections, invoicing, work orders, contractor coordination, tenant and owner enquiries, and viewings for vacant rentals. What people don’t expect is the variety. One day I’m on paperwork, the next I’m solving an urgent repair or supporting someone through a difficult situation. No two days are the same.
What led you into property management, and was there a moment early on that made you think “this is the career for me”?
I worked in sales and real estate before moving into property management, because it’s a busier, more rewarding role with more opportunities. I love socialising and working with all kinds of people, and in this job I meet new faces every day.
What’s one thing you wish every landlord and every tenant understood before they came to you?
Communication is key. Most issues are easy to sort out when they’re raised early and discussed openly, and they tend to grow when they’re left unsaid. Whether you’re a landlord or a tenant, keeping in touch and being honest about problems helps me find a solution quickly and keeps everyone on the same page.
If you could give one piece of advice to every landlord you work with, what would it be?
Look after your property. Regular maintenance and fixing small issues early stops them turning into bigger, more costly problems down the track. It protects your investment, keeps your tenants happy and makes the whole rental experience smoother for everyone.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Keen on Rentals specifically – the team, the culture, the way the business runs?
We all have our different skills and way we do things with our roles but the work always runs smoothly amongst the team. There is a lot of support from Niqui and Klim and alot of knowledge to learn between them both.
